Dear Parents and Guardians,
Hello! My name is Mr. Christopher Borjas and I will be your child’s first grade teacher for this school year. I am super excited and hope you are too! This is my sixth year teaching at Santa Rosa Academy and fifth year teaching 1st grade. Before moving to Menifee I taught second grade for two years.
Here is a little information about me. I grew up in Santa Barbara County in Santa Maria, California. I attended college at California State University, Fullerton. During my time in Fullerton I obtained my Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies and a Nationally Accredited Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I recently obtained my Master’s Degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction from Cal State Fullerton.
My beautiful and awesome wife, Rebecca, and I just celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary over the summer. We have an energetic 10 month old son, Reagan. On our free time we enjoy reading, being outdoors, hiking, cooking, and taking our dog Annie on jogs. We love traveling, learning, camping in our motorhome, and visiting museums.
My philosophy for learning is that every child is unique and learns in different ways. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and creativity while learning and growing. I believe in hands-on experiences, technology in the classroom, learning creatively, and learning through play. I am really looking forward to a fun-filled and educational year!
I look forward to interacting with you and your child this upcoming school year. I am especially looking forward to working with you closely to ensure your child’s success with reading fluently. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. You can call the school (my extension is 3103) or email me at [email protected]. I’m ready to start this year with you and your child. Together as a team we will have a successful year!
